So we are having some difficulties with this website but here are a few pictures of what we have been up to. After Colorado Springs we moved down to Pueblo where we found a coffee shop to hang out at and then walked down the street to a few antique stores. We Stayed at Pueblo West Campground & RV park and when we arrived a rainbow formed over it.

We were parked next to a nice guy who was living there permanently. There were horses and even a goat in the pen behind our van.

After that we spent a cold rainy night and day in a walmart parking lot where we only left the van to go to IHOP. The rest of the day we spent reading and playing games. When we moved on from Pueblo we were hoping it would warm up but we spent one more night in Trinidad, CO which is right by the border to NM. It was even colder and there was snow on the ground because we were in the mountains. We only stayed one night and finished off the hot chocolate mix.

The drive down the other side of the mountains and into New Mexico was much sunnier and warmer.

We stayed at Storrie Lake State Park just north of Las Vegas, NM where we ran into some people who had seen our van parked in Trinidad, CO the night before. We got to talking to them and they ended up insisting on cooking us a turkey in their camper. We will be having turkey sandwiches for a couple weeks.

When we woke up the next morning it was sunny and warm and we were all in good spirits. We packed up and looked forward to heading in to Santa Fe.

April 20th 2015

What a great day!! We hit the road towards colorado springs around 11:30 and had amazing mountain views the entire way. We went through the west side of colorado springs and stopped off at a wal-mart to make some lunch and stretch our legs. After a little while we got restless and decided to check out garden of the gods. Wow! I was blown away with the scenery and scope of the whole place. The redstone offered a beautiful accent to the mountian backdrop. It was starting to sprinkle when we drove in and the place was starting to clear out, but about 10 minutes after we walked past the entrance sunlight broke through and gave way to the rolling mountians and jagged outcroppings.
We spent a few hours taking in the sights and then decided to head towards our next campsite at Cheyenne mountain state park.

April 19/20th

We are 5 days in and this is shaping up to be an incredible trip! We spent sunday afternoon enjoying some much needed sun around the denver civic center then decided to find another state park to spend the night in, a welcome change from the wal-mart parking lots of friday and saturday night. We rolled in to chatfield state park around 6:30. After signing in we found our campsite and took some time to drink in the breathtaking view. The mountains spread out behind the lake in both directions taking up the entire horizon and catching the last few rays of sunlight. It was amazing.
After a good nights sleep we awoke to clear beautiful morning, took a small hike, ate some breakfast, and packed up for our drive down to colorado springs!
